Dr Naveen Kumar has done his DM Gastroenterology from PGIMER, Chandigarh. He is an expert endoscopist and has performed more than 5000 endoscopic procedures. He has special interest in Endoscopic Ultrasound, Advanced endoscopy and Endoscopic surgeries. 

Dr Naveen Kumar, with his expertise has established the Department of Gastroenterology and Advanced endoscopic center in Sri Harihar Hospital, Gutkar, Mandi. It is the first hospital in Himachal Pradesh to have all advanced endoscopic systems and Endoscopic ultrasound. Dr Naveen Kumar is the first one to perform endoscopic surgeries in the state of Himachal Pradesh.
